This Maple/ Walnut Saturn Evolution features Mapex’s most popular hybrid shells to date, with SONIClear bearing edges, Sonic Saver hoops, and (last but not least) Mapex’s revolutionary new “Halo” mounts! By using a lateral, unique “under lug-line” suspension system, Mapex have unlocked the freedom of full shell resonance, allowing your drums to drum to sing with an open and pure tone. Halo Mounts’ also feature an Adjustment Knob that acts as a built-in Equalizer, letting you dampen the resonance of the shell on the go as to produce a tighter and quicker decay. Whether you like to go dry in a jazz gig, or sound huge in a packed arena, the Saturn Evolution has the whole package for you! The Saturn Evolution is about taking what has made the Saturn series incredible and turning it up to 11. Nodal Line Air Flow Venting, Low Density Isolation Gaskets and the SAS Static 90deg Floor Tom Leg and Sonic Pedestal Tom Feet. All of these features were originally devised for the ground-breaking Mapex Black Panther Design Lab kits, and have now been inherited by the Saturn Evolution! The new Chamber Specific-Nodal Line Air Flow Venting technology ensures that the Saturn Evo Series bass drums and toms are allocated unique air hole placements for each drum. These vents are positioned strategically in alignment with the drum lugs to prevent interference with the shell’s overall resonance.
