Birch is a favorite among studio drummers and engineers, striking the perfect balance between crisp articulation and warm tone. Suitable for many styles of music, Birch offers a sharp attack, short sustain, and balanced resonance. These Birch shells feature HVX™ (horizontal-vertical-diagonal) grain orientation that ensures versatility and a complete musical instrument. The tom and bass drum shells feature eight plies of Birch with 45- and 60-degree back cut bearing edges, while snare drums feature 10 plies with a 45-degree back cut edge. This series offers similar hardware features to the Collector’s Series, including Suspended Tom Mounts (STM), quarter-sized turret lugs, and graduated triple-flange counter hoops. Performance Series bass drums offer matching Birch hoops and low-mass claw hooks, while all drums are equipped with TruePitch 30 tuning tension rods.
